Shalom Child Development Centre Project

M4T Ongoing Projects

Changing a child's life for the better is at the heart of the mission of Manaba Seva Samiti.  Like many children at Shalom Child Development Centre, Manjula lost her parents when she was young. She writes, " I was a small kid of 2 years when my father passed away. My mother left the world 4 years after my father's death. She died of Asthma when I was 6 years old.

Shalom Child Development Centre Project

Changing a child's life for the better is at the heart of the mission of Manaba Seva Samiti.

We started an Orphanage in India, viz. Shalom Child Development Centre in 2003.

The Centre helps and equips the children to recognize their God-given ability, embrace their identity in God, and reach their full potential to contribute to the transformation of society.  These children are from many different backgrounds, all with a story of loss, hurt, and poverty. We provide a home, spiritual training, educational support, healthcare, career counseling, and a loving environment at Shalom Child Development Centre.

Like many of the children at Shalom Child Development Centre, Manjula

lost both of her parents when she was very young.

She writes, " I was a small kid of 2 years, when my father passed away.

My mother left the world 4 years after my father's death. She died in

Asthma when I was 6 years old. I missed them very much. Then I went

to one of my distant relative uncles' house for my schooling. But he

abused me sexually and threatened me not to disclose the matter to

anyone. But I got the Child Line No. through a neighbor and called them

to rescue me. Immediately the Team members came & rescued me from

the so called uncle's house. I was with the Child Welfare Committee for

10 days & then the Committee sent me to Shalom, where I'm more than

happy. "

Manjula's future depends on the support of the church both locally and globally.  She studies Undergrad (Arts) at Sunabedha Women's College. Unless she came to Shalom, she would have no hope for her future. Now she loves the Lord & hopes to have a good future for herself and her only brother. She will be an example for others to live a sustainable life with independency after graduating from Shalom.

Thanks to the generosity of people like you to touch and bless the lives of such children in need.
